I ponder what the future holds
For one so frail and meek
To travel through life with eyes that have died
As his dreams, is it all so bleak?

A million things that he could be
So creative, unique, such flair
But the insensitivites & unkindness of others
Have left him in despair

He could not survive in the real world
Being pushed around and used
But he'd been taught this in childhood
Yet in society he is accused

He is at peace now and at rest
under the willow his favourite tree
His zest for life and hidden passion
The world, shame for it, will never see

Black Swan

I saw you shine amidst the haze
In grass you lay, your beauty took my breath away
I came closer to have a better view
There was something I found so familiar in you

It was then I noticed your saddened eyes
Not awared by other passers by
You were different to the others who shared your space
Could it be you belonged in another place
Its a long road back to reality
Some say I've come too far
An enigma living in a paradoxical fantasy
Dreaming of being a star

Was it attention I missed as a child
Or the agony of not living a life in the wild
Societies hold as tight as a wedge
Has kept me living on the edge
As a lost pidgeon
Looking for his home
I have not the urge
Though I still must roam

Through mountains and deserts
And valleys and shores
I push my strength through
To open closed doors

Let it be that tomorrow
The day will be shorter
And my footsteps longer
